If Religion Was An Invention by Y.B. Masdal

For certain, it would be the hardest thing if I have to challenge anyone to an argument on the subject of religion and on the existence of God for that matter. To prove some of my claims would be futile at most if in the end, my counterpart would just demand from me an empirical basis for them. There would be no concrete evidence that I could present.

In college, our English professor taught me that religion is a subject that is unsusceptible to a formal debate, because knowledge and information that are available for this subject is far from sufficient to close any uncertainty---and no one shall rise as a victor or as a vanquished.

Be it as it may, if religion was just an invention of man, then I would still believe in it, for I believe in the good things it has brought humanity and the orderliness and civilization that it had helped ushered to mankind. We owe many things to religion that at times, the things we put into our mouth is in some way the result of the many teachings and guidelines that faith has given us.

You can quote me on this.

"EVEN IF RELIGION WERE JUST AN INVENTION OF MAN, I WOULD STILL BELIEVE IN IT, FOR IT WOULD BE THE GREATEST INVENTION THAT MANKIND HAS EVER HAD."
